8 Things We Learned Running BuzzFeed on Amazon ECS

Comments 3

  1. This presentation was disastrous. I'm not a fan of BuzzFeed, it seems to be aimed at giving you the 'news' that will effectively waste your time. And that video does exactly this.

  2. Good grief! This presentation was horrendous – the first 10mins were the foundations of Amazon AWS and its basic features as well as micro-containers, badly reworded by two mumbling BuzzFeed IT staff. The second part of the video, they try to explain how they used AWS to provide and run their infrastructure behind BuzzFeed, but gave such a simplistic overview that it ended up being a waste of time. To add further to the annoyance, they kept pushing to presentation slides that simply had animated GIFs and none of the focal talking points that the presenters were clearly reading from.

Not impressed at all — this video just tarnishes the branding and overall feel of BuzzFeed and its technical staff.
