BBC Election 2010 exit poll

  1. @CybderDude93 I presume you watched this year's Canadian election, all I can say is if someone had've told me that the NDP would destroy the Bloc I would've told you don't be stupid, although I can't say I support the NDP/NPD's method of choosing their leader, from an outside perspective I reckon that Thomas Mulclair will win the job after all he speaks French, is passionate about Canada and knows what is required of him.

  2. @CybderDude93 I think the Liberals need to be down to about 10-15 seats before merger talks become a real possibility, Harper already knows that even though the election is a good few years away that it won't be an easy one to win especially if the NDP can hold Quebec and if need be play the Jack Layton card when the opportunity arises then the NDP should stand a decent chance of forming government.

  3. the same reason callaghan didnt hold an election in 1978 – he thought things would get better and that he'd stand a better chance at a later election. He would have won an election in Summer/Autumn 2007, but might not have had a majority

  4. i disagree. In my view Brown should have held an election in 2007, which he would have won. he should have stayed on until 2010-11 then retire and allow David Miliband to take over. If brown hadnt have become prime minister then labour would still be under the control of blairites, and would therefore be completley unelectable.

  5. Brown was a good prime minister, not very good on TV and certainly one of these realigning prime ministers like Attlee, Lloyd George and Thatcher, but he did prevent the recession turning into a depression. I think he will go down in history like Ramsay Mac and Baldwin, not a great prime minister, but one who did in his own little way help britain.

  6. I was wounded, i prayed for a tory majority. My labour voting friends spent the next 8 hours heckling at me and calling me a class traitor. With each tory gain they would throw a frozen pea at me. All in good fun though.
